3 Natural Teeth Whiteners

Bright white teeth are so mesmerizing. Have you ever been talking to someone when suddenly you realize that their teeth are so sparkly white that they almost seem transparent? You can’t take your eyes off them! Well, I’ve been on the lookout for some cheap and natural teeth whiteners and here are my promising results ::

1. Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide

These two ingredients make for the traditional recipe for teeth whitening. (Did you even know hydrogen peroxide was safe to use as a mouthwash? I always just thought it was just for cleaning skinned knees!) Actually, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide is what you’ll find on most whitening strips. But these two ingredients are about as cheap as it comes and you can easily use them at home. Here’s a great weekly regimen using this combination.

2. Activated Charcoal

Ok, at first sight, this method looks straight up horrific. Rubbing charcoal on your teeth? But activated charcoal is another common ingredient used by whitening strips and has long been touted as a teeth whitener. Also, it appears that the effects are instantaneous, so you won’t have to remember to use it once a week in order to get results.

3. Oil Pulling

This is by far the weirdest method I found, but oil pulling is skyrocketing in popularity these days. (It has many health benefits besides teeth whitening.) It’s an ancient medical practice in which you swish oil in your mouth for about 20 minutes first thing in the morning. It has a detoxifying effect that removes bacteria from your mouth and will leave your mouth healthier, cleaner and whiter. The Beauty Department has the simplest explanation that I’ve found.

Have you ever tried any of these methods? Did they work? Do you regularly whiten your teeth? Use whitening strips? A dentist? What’s the best way? Spill the beans!
