French Women Week

Years ago, I read an essay in Victoria magazine about French women. In it, an expert said that French women spend all their money on skin care and lingerie. This has always stuck in my head, particularly because it seemed to highlight an entirely different set of priorities. If you were to ask me, I’d say that American women, in contrast, spend a lot of money on makeup and clothes.

I don’t want to read too much into this, but I like the idea of a woman working on the quality of her skin as opposed to just covering up imperfections with makeup, or spending money on the underwear that no one will ever see. It feels like a way of valuing the essence of herself, instead of just spending all her effort on looking good.

So…I thought it’d be fun to have French Women Week and talk all about skin care and lingerie. Some of the things you can expect ::

    • The proper way to care for your intimates
    • A tried-and-true homemade exfoliant
    • The underwear all women should wear
    • A summer makeup that’s actually good for your skin
    • My lingerie pet-peeve
    • The secret to French women’s luminous skin (I’m actually not exaggerating)

Doesn’t this sound trop bien? I’m so excited and look forward to sharing all these goodies with you. Check back soon for the first installment.

To my small but dearly-loved band of male readers, I humbly command you to go away for one week. :)
