How do you make exercise more fun?

I know that it’s good to maintain a consistent habit of exercise, but sometimes when you dutifully sweat every day, it can just get so boring! So I have this new idea for adding some fun to my exercise routine :: I’ve decided to change the type of exercise I do every month. For example, one month I focus on running, the next month I do body-weight exercises, the next month I do P90X, etc. It seems like this could add some excitement and anticipation to something I might ordinarily dread.

This month I’m doing yoga. I’ve practiced yoga off and on for the past 6-7 years, but mostly beginners stuff. Last week I went to the library and checked out a book and a DVD, both of which ended up being more advanced than anything else I’ve ever tried. At first I was nervous, but then I just went for it and ended up doing more than I ever thought I could! It’s been really exhilarating and fun. (However, the first time I tried this pose, I lost my balance, did a bonafide somersault and landed on the coffee table! Haha!) 

Anyways, I was wondering what the rest of you do to spice up your exercise life? Any routines or practices you’re really enjoying these days? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
